Coming to see me there is no guarantee that you will hear iZindlondlo or that I will use iSitunywa or a combination of both for the consultation. It depends on which of my ancestors is coming through strongest on that particular day.
I am fluent in both English and Zulu. My Sotho is disgraceful for a South African, but not so bad that we can’t have a conversation. Amakhosi usually speak isiZulu to me but if my grandfather is around this changes to English. Language is a human barrier so it’s irrelevant what your particular background is as there are no communication barriers in the next life.
I don’t have any reservations about seeing people who have been forced by life/fate to seek out the help of a Sangoma. However I do have a problem with people coming to “test” me for whatever reasons they may have. I don’t believe its my place to be converting sceptics as my job is to heal. So if you are a seeker, we can talk, as for sceptics, you need to examine your own motives for wanting to prove or disprove the existence of life beyond death.
I recommend that you come with something to write because sometimes the information received is a lot and also new concepts particularly if you have never consulted a Sangoma before. The temptation is also to come and ask all the questions in the world. Don’t because you will have an information overload. Rather schedule 2 or 3 successive appointments which will reduce your consultation to a max of 1and a half hours which is mentally manageable. Also have an idea what you want answered as this helps you not to receive information you are not yet ready to handle.
